Answered plainly, before you have to ask
Everything people want to know before signing anything.
Three groups, twelve honest answers.
Nothing here is hedged. If an answer sounds inconvenient for me, it is because it is the true one.

With a thirty-minute call, at no cost. You describe the problem, I ask questions, and within two working days you get a written summary with a rough shape, a rough number and an honest view on whether I am the right person for it.
Both. Roughly a third of my work is white-labelled through design and marketing agencies who need senior engineering they can rely on. I can stay entirely behind the scenes or join client calls, whichever suits the relationship.
Typically four to twenty weeks. Anything shorter is usually better served by an audit or a focused retainer; anything longer generally wants a team rather than one person, and I will tell you that rather than take it on.
Yes, and often that is the better arrangement. I join your standups, work in your repository and follow your conventions. Plenty of engagements are about adding senior capacity rather than replacing anyone.
Money and terms

Fixed price for defined scope, or a monthly retainer for ongoing work. Fixed-price projects are broken into phases with hours and assumptions shown, so you can interrogate the number rather than just accept it.
Thirty percent to reserve the dates, then milestone payments as phases complete, with the balance on handover. Retainers are invoiced monthly in advance.
We talk before the hours are spent. Genuine scope changes are quoted separately and you decide whether they are worth it. If I simply underestimated my own work, that is my cost to carry.
You do, completely, on final payment: code, design files, brand artwork and all associated intellectual property. I ask only for permission to show it in this portfolio, and I will honour a request not to.

A written update every Friday for the life of the engagement, plus a working call each week. Between those, whatever the project needs, but you will never have to ask where things stand.
Every project includes thirty days of post-launch support for defects at no charge. After that, either your team takes it on with the documentation provided, or a retainer covers it.
I set everything up in accounts you own (hosting, domain, email, monitoring) and hand over the keys. I never hold a client's infrastructure hostage; that is a leash, not a service.
SAST (UTC+2), from Cape Town. That gives a full overlap with Europe, a comfortable morning overlap with the UK, and an afternoon window for the US East Coast.
Still unsure about fit?
Describe the problem rather than the solution. I will tell you which service fits, or that none of them does yet.
Want to see the method?
Six phases from first call to post-launch support, with what lands at the end of each one.
Prefer to judge by results?
Six case studies with the decisions, the trade-offs and the numbers afterwards.
